Cordae Hankton to be named new RB Coach

I’ve learned that Will Healy is set to hire Cordae Hankton as the next Running Backs coach here at Charlotte. Hankton was most recently at the University of Texas as a Senior Offensive Analyst for one season. Prior to his time with the Longhorns Hankton was with Michigan State as a defensive grad assistant and 1 season as an offensive grad assistant at Colorado.

Hankton’s recruiting abilities are well-thought of, here are a couple pieces on Hankton that will shed more light on his experience leading up to his appointment here to replace Sean Dawkins, who recently departed to take the Memphis Tigers RB job.

Here are a two articles that will give you some more background on Hankton:

Steve Sarkisian has been looking for ways to add talented recruiters and coaches to his support staff, and his latest hire could help the Longhorns make an impact in Louisiana. Cordae Hankton joins the Texas staff as a defensive analyst coming over from Michigan State. A former safety at Jackson State University, Hankton pursued a career as a police officer before transitioning into coaching.

In addition to his role as a graduate assistant on the defensive side of the ball for Mel Tucker’s staff, Hankton was highly-regarded for his recruiting ability, especially in his home state of Louisiana. Hankton played a role in helping the Spartans land heavily-recruited wide receiver, Keon Coleman, from Opelousas, Louisiana. Chester Kimbrough, a recent transfer from Florida, originally hails from New Orleans where Hankton is also from. Jah’von Grisgby, a three-star safety, was another prospect from Louisiana who was formerly committed to MSU, but eventually de-committed and signed with Purdue.
