Transfer commitments
1. Derek Boykins | LB | South Carolina
Boykins attended high school at near by Central Cabarrus and is leaving the Gamecocks after enrolling early (January, 2019). It was reported on October 8th that he had entered the transfer portal. It’s my understanding that ECU, NCSU and UNC-CH were all involved in his recruitment as a transfer.
A waiver will be filed for immediate eligibility.
2. Tre Harbison | RB | Northern Illinois
Graduate transfer with 1 year remaining. He will be immediately eligible for the 2020 season. As a Sophomore and Junior he put up back-to-back seasons where he eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark for the Huskies.
3. Isaac Hampton | DT | Miami (Ohio)
Hampton just completed his Redshirt Sophomore season with the Redhawks. He was a ⭐⭐⭐ prospect coming out of Mallard Creek (NC) in the 2017 class.
A waiver will be filed for immediate eligibility.
4. Siah S’ao | DT | Vanderbilt
S’ao just completed his undergrad at Vandy and has announced his intent to enroll in a master program at Charlotte. S’ao will have 1 season left and be eligible immediately. S’ao was a reserve DT for Vandy and also participated on special teams.
5. Antone Williams | DB | Duke
Williams just finished his undergrad at Duke and will spend his final season of eligibility with Charlotte, eligible immediately.
5. Hunter Kelly | OL | Penn State
Kelly has now graduated from Penn State and will be eligible immediately at Charlotte for his final season. He originally walked-on to the Nittany Lions but was placed on scholarship prior to the start of this past season.
