Yesterday evening Charlotte landed their first commitment of the 2021 cycle as 6’4 Guard Daylen Berry from Panther Creek HS in Cary, NC. I’ve watched his tape and my immediate thought was: he reminds me of Shawn Lester. While Lester didn’t last long in the Charlotte program, his talent/potential was tantalizing. On the travel circuit Berry has spent most of his time with Garner Road, but has also played some this seasons with Tea Marie.

As a Junior at Panther Creek, Berry put up some solid numbers while earning a 1st team all-conference nomination. He averaged: 18pts/g, 6 r/g, 2 a/g, 2 blk/g and 1 to/g. That’s a solid stat line, and he did it while shooting 55% from the field and 36% from 3 (on 64 makes).
