FRESH addition for CLT in the 2022 class

Roger “Fresh” Walters took an unoffical to Charlotte earlier in June and wrapped up the month with a commitment to Coach Healy & staff. Charlotte was the first team to offer Fresh, then FIU offered as well. In addition to playing at a high-level on the gridiron, Walters is a solid basketball player as well, he earned all-area first time this season while putting up 17ppg.

It seems that he hadn’t played football in a while, and when he returned to the field it was during COVID, so that has him flying under the radar. He’s a dynamic player with the ball in his hands, averaged 46.8 yards per kickoff return and 20.2 yards per punt return this year. Note I grabbed those from Max Preps, and I’m not sure they include all his stats as I’ve seen him listed with 5 or so TDs via returns in another article.

“They are getting a freak 2 Sport athlete who is an ultimate competitor. Went under the radar due to it being his first year back in football, no camp series last year due to COVID, and no colleges coaches on the road recruiting for Spring Football. Charlotte got a steal in this kid ?”
