It’s beginning to look a lot like Biffmas

As previously mentioned to subscribers, Biff Poggi and Charlotte Football were slated to host a large number of visitors this week, which did include 3 current commits (only 2 made it to campus). Out of that group, 7 announced their commitments on Twitter yesterday, so let’s dive into those additions.

New commits

Terrance Butler, Maryland, LB
Butler was a 3-star prospect out of St. Frances Academy in Maryland and would have been our top recruit in the 2021 class compared to Healy’s signees. While Butler hasn’t played much at Maryland (6’3, 225) in 2 seasons, he was a highly recruited prospect with offers from: Maryland, Michigan, Tennessee, Michigan State, Minnesota, Syracuse, FIU and UMass.

Zion Shockley, Maryland, Defensive Line
Shockley was also a 3-star prospect in the 2021 class out of St. Frances Academy and rated higher than Butler. Shockley was 612 overall in the class, with Butler being at 968. Shockley hadn’t reached the field yet for the Terps (6’3 , 250). He held offers from: Maryland, Akron, Arizona State, Baylor, BC, Buffalo, Kent State, Liberty, Louisville, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Tyler Thomas, Grambling, Center
Thomas was a 3-star out of St. Frances and went to Kent State but transferred to Grambling, where he’s started for 2 seasons at Center (6’5, 320). This year he graded out better than several CLT starting OL.

Al-Ma’hi Ali, St Francis University
Started out at ODU before redshirting and transferring to SFU. He’s a former 3-star prospect and would have posted CLT’s top PFF grade this year on defense based on his grades at SFU.

Breon Noel, St. Francis University, Defensive Back
Played in 10 games as a freshman for SFU, but appears to have redshirted this season. Another St. Frances Academy product. Can’t find a recruiting profile for Breon.

Jonathan Wallace, Holmes, Defensive Tackle
Holmes had some serious interest while at St. Frances Academy (former 3-star) before getting hurt, with offers from Wisconsin, Michigan, WVU and UMass. Was listed at 6’1, 375 at Holmes JUCO.

Andrew Adair, JMU, Offensive Line
A former 3-star from St. Frances Academy that started out at Liberty before transferring to JMU. Have to imagine he must sit 1 season before suiting up for Charlotte. Was heavily recruited with offers from: Tulane, Tennessee, Buffalo, Baylor, Coastal, JMU, Kent State, and others out of high school.

There’s more coming, including two commitments already announced today. More on those later!
