3 visitors from 3 states, including a local standout

Official visit season is fully under way for Biff Poggi and his Charlotte Football staff. Charlotte already has a few 2024 commits in the fold (2024 commit tracker), a list that's sure to grow over the coming weeks. This weekends trio of visitors happen to be all on the offensive side of the ball: an offensive tackle, wide receiver and tight end.

Who's coming to town?

The first visitor to note is offensive tackle and 3-star prospect, Umar Rockhead from Mallard Creek High School. He's a lanky prospect at 6'5 and 265 pounds, a great base for Lewis Caralla to build upon. Currently Rockhead is only rated by 247 Sports at this time.

The second 3-star prospect heading to the 704 is Miles Burris, a wide receiver from Trinity Christian Academy (FL). Burris is listed at 6'2, 190 pounds, and currently only rated by 247 Sports.

Burris holds a slew of offers: Charlotte, Pittsburgh, ECU, Memphis, WKU, Navy, Army, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, FAU, ODU, Troy, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Akron, Ohio, Central Michigan, FAMU, Brown, Yale, Dartmouth, Penn, and Columbia.

Rounding out this weekend's official visitor list is Grant Laskey, a 6'5 230 pounds tight end from Lowndes High School (GA). While not yet ranked by any service, Laskey has a healthy offer sheet so far, and is also a top wrestler in his weigh class (based on preseason rankings for GHSA 7A). Interesting to note, in 2021 he was in the 195 pounds weigh class, now he's competing in the 285 class.
