Two commits, and counting
Over the past few days Biff Poggi’s staff has continued to add to the 2024 recruiting class, landing a Tight End from Georgia and a OL/DL prospect from Germany. Grant Laskey (TE from Lowndes HS in GA) joined the class after committing earlier this week after his official visit to CLT over the weekend. That was followed up by massive German prospect Mustafa Hausmann, coming in at 6’6 350 pounds.
After talks with my family and coaches… I would like to announce my commitment to UNC-Charlotte ‼️@CarterVikingsFB @Coach_FredM @CoachMorookian @CoachM_Miller @BiffPoggi @JeremyO_Johnson pic.twitter.com/1tEPm0AXaH— Grant Laskey (@grant_laskey) June 13, 2023
Charlotte was Mustafa Hausmann’s first offer, and he’s currently attending college camps across the country as he tours with PPI Recruits, so I expect to see more programs jump into his recruitment. Based on some clips from Twitter he looks explosive, while also maintaining agility at his size.
Gran Laskey’s recruitment is more defined at this point since he’s a stateside prospect, which includes a long list of offers: Charlotte, Indiana, Memphis, FAU, UAB, UMASS, UConn, Coastal Carolina, JMU, Liberty, Navy, Army, Georgia State, Troy, Columbia, Towson, Wofford, Mercer, Furman, and Austin Peay. He’s listed at 6’5 230 pounds, and it’s pretty apparent that this offensive scheme is looking to add tight ends that are physical athletes that can help the running game that Biff Poggi covets.

Charlotte hosted a major prospect over the weekend. Artavius Jones is a 4-star prospect from Blountstown High School (FL), who recently visited UCF and has a visit slated with the Miami Hurricanes later this month. You can learn more about Artavius in my post from earlier in the week.
