Pig Cage, LSU

The portal never sleeps

Will Healy and staff continue to evaluate and recruit via the transfer portal. It’s also worth noting that the program is losing some players to it as well, most notably Senior kicker Jonathan Cruz.

Curious as to who the portal looks all together as it relates to Charlotte? Check out this resource from 247 Sports. Note that it isn’t perfect, as Eugene Minter, a transfer form Austin Peay, is currently enrolled at Charlotte

Pig Cage, LSU

Pig Cage, LSU, Defensive back

Cage started his collegiate career at Nicholls State and played in the Spring 2021 season, which does not count against his eligibility. In that season he was named an FCS Freshman All-American, and followed it up with a transfer to LSU. This year he primarily played on special teams, but did play 30 snaps in the Texas Bowl vs Kansas State.

Since he’s already transferred one-time, I’m assuming he’d be a sit-to-play prospect with 3 years remaining.

While I’ve been creating this post he’s announced an official visit to UTSA this weekend. He holds offers from: Charlotte, Akron, FIU, South Alabama, Liberty, North Texas, Marshall, Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, ULM, and UTSA.

Mike Lockhart, Georgia Tech, Defensive Line

Lockhart has been at GT for 3 seasons, but he’s redshirted, then had the COVID season + this past year. All-in-all he could have 3 seasons left to play, should he exercise his super senior season. He should be eligible at his next school immediately.

So far Lockhart has offers from: Charlotte, Auburn, Jackson State, Austin Peay, Virginia Tech, WKU, USF, EKU, and UAB.
