Biff Poggi's group are currently hosting 5 more official visitors

The beat goes on, Charlotte currently has 39(!) commits, with 32 already having signed with CLT. Get that info on the 2023 Commitment Tracker, a subscriber only resource. This batch of visitors is smaller, with an anticipated larger group of visitors for next week.

While not a commitment, having standout Wide Receiver Grant DuBose withdraw from the portal and rejoin the team is a huge win. DuBose was graded out as a 4-star transfer when he originally hit the portal. In other recruiting news, Biff Poggi hinted during the early signing period press conference that there was more QB new (transfer) coming soon, and he talked about that again this morning during his interview on the Mac and Bone show with WFNZ. You can stream that interview now on-demand.

Let's get to it!

Demetrius Knight, Georgia Tech, LB/EDGE — CURRENT CHARLOTTE COMMIT
Knight undoubtedly has a strong reference from new Strength & Conditioning Coach Lewis Caralla, who spent several years at Georgia Tech. He hasn't played a ton of snaps at GT but should at a minimum provided depth and leadership. Knight was a regular on special teams at GT during his time there. He was a 3-star prospect in the 2019 class and should have 2 years left as he preserved a redshirt by playing in only 4 games during 2022 campaign.

Clinton "CJ" Burton Jr., Boston College, Defensive Back
A consensus 4-star prospect in 2021 out of St. Frances Academy in MD. Burton played 2 seasons with BC, should have 2 remaining after appearing in 5 games during 2022. Over his 2 seasons in Chestnut Hill he played around 400 snaps. Coming out of HS he offers galore from programs like Florida, Alabama, Clemson, Penn State, USC, etc.

Ike White, Wide Receiver, Minnesota
White was a 4-star prospect at ESPN, and rated as a 3-star on all other services coming out of St. Frances Academy in the 2022 class. After appearing in only 2 games for the Golden Gophers, White hit the portal on January 2nd and has yet to announce any offers via Twitter. Listed at 5'11, 185, white held offers from: Minnesota, BC, Cincinnati, Maryland, UMass, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee, Toldeo and Virginia Tech. White will have 4 seasons of eligibility remaining.

Kevin Williams Jr., Offensive Line, Nebraska
Williams started out his collegiate career at Northern Colorado before heading to the Cornhuskers. He played in 4 games, with 1 start for Nebraska before a season-ending injury. After appearing in the Geogia Southern game, he got the starting nod versus Oklahoma, where he was injured. I believe he'll be classified as a grad transfer, with 1 season of eligibility (2 if he gets a medical waiver for 2022). Charlotte recruited Williams out of UNC last season as well. Our Director of Recruiting, Jackson Block, is a UNC alum, so he has a great pulse on guys from there.

Dylan McDuffie, Running Back, Georgia Tech
McDuffie (6'0, 217) started out his collegiate career at Buffalo, where in his final season (2021) there he put up just over 1,000 yards with a 5.1 yard per carry average and 11 touchdowns. McDuffie's longest carry in 2021 was 27 yards, so he I'm not expecting a home run hitter, but definitely a physical type of back that helps move the chains. He should have 1 season of eligibility left as a grad transfer.
