Jaren “Stone” Handy | EDGE | 6’6 255 | Indiana
Charlotte just hosted for former big-time recruit in Jaren “Stone” Handy. Stone Handy signed with Auburn out of HS and was recruited at the highest levels of the game, and played the 2019 and 2020 seasons with the War Eagles, appearing in 14 games. Handy then transferred to the Indiana Hoosiers, where he played in 9 before suffering a season-ending injury. Handy was dismissed from IU this Spring, but no information has been reported as to why.
In his 1 season with the Hoosiers, Handy recorded 19 tackles and 13 QB pressures. I’m unsure if Handy could play this Fall, he’d likely need a waiver since he’s transferred once already, but he should have 2 season of eligibility remaining in addition to a redshirt season (if there is no waiver).
It does not appear that he’s visited anywhere else at this time. The talent is there for Handy, and he’s played almost 400 snaps at the P5 level, so it’s easy to see the appeal from a readiness and talent-level standpoint.
