CLT FOOTBALL

Early signing period primer

As of right now it seems that all of Charlotte's 12 commitments at this time are on track to sign early with Charlotte. That said, signing days can always get a little crazy, so here is everyone that is on my radar as of now.

If you've read the recent visitor lists, these will all look familiar to you. One recent visitor has committed elsewhere and that is Valdosta HS (GA) Safety Isaiah Holland. He announced yesterday his intentions to head to Georgia State over Charlotte and Arkansas State. CLT was late in the game here to get in the fray and couldn't seal the deal.

Flip season

Charlotte just hosted WR Reggie Givhan III from North Cobb HS in GA. Givhan is a New Mexico Lobos commit, but I just logged an imaginary crystal ball pick on Discord for Givhan to be a Niner come tomorrow.

Commits expected to sign

As of now based on the info I have, all commits are on schedule to sign early. That said, its crazy time and things can always turn on a dime when it's time to put pen to paper.

Committed transfer

Wayne Jones from Kansas State is currently the only transfer commit and I believe the plans are for Wayne to be here in the Spring, however I'm working to confirm this as of now.

Roster concerns?

As of now the biggest areas of concern have to be Quarterback and Defensive Line. The biggest domino here is Chris Reynolds, does he return for his super senior season? If not, has Charlotte seen enough from Texas A&M transfer James Foster to feel confident in his abilities? Behind Foster there is Dom Shoffner, who sat out this season due to injury and RS Freshman Xavier WIlliams, a former three-star prospect out of GA.

Defensive Line is the next concern, who can Charlotte land here to make an immediate impact to help Markees Watts out? Rashad Cheney remains a name to watch, the Minnesota transfer took an official to Charlotte and could be a plug-and-play talent for the defense.

Lastly, you have to feel that once again they could be looking for impact guys on the backend of the defense. One guy I have my eyes on as of now is Zay Peterson, a Louisville transfer.
